[break] A special function was organized at NTA to welcome the new chairman. Likewise, the authority also welcomed newly appointed member of the board Dhana Raj Gyanwali.
Addressing the function, chairman Jha expressed commitment to reform, develop and expand telecommunication sector with the core focus on quality service. Jha had served as executive director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) for two terms earlier.
Bhandari is the new NBA president
KATHMANDU: Citizens Bank CEO Rajan Singh Bhandari was unanimously elected as the president of the Nepal Bankers´ Association (NBA) on Friday. He was officially declared the chief of the association during the annual general meeting of NBA on Friday. With his election, he has replaced Himalayan Bank CEO Ashoke Shumsher Rana. Bhandari was elected unanimously to the top post of the umbrella organization of commercial banks as no other banker filed candidacy till the deadline of last Wednesday.
He has now lead the association for the next two years, during which he will head a ten-member executive committee, which includes two vice presidents and seven members, including Rana. The election of president and executive members are held every alternate year. As per this system, the election of other members of the executive committee is set to be held next year.
