SPORTS BRIEFS: Four players confirm tickets for Vietnam

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Saksham Karki, Samrakshak Bhusan Bajracharya and Pranab Khanal secured participation in the U-14 ITF Asian Junior Tennis Championship to be held in Vietnam from January 14 to 25. Karki, Bajracharya and Khanal finished the selection tournament in the top three positions in the boys´ section.



All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association has informed that three players each in both the boys´ and girls´ section will represent Nepal in the championship. Bibhuti Karki has confirmed her place for the championship on Thursday. [break]According to tennis coach Surya Bhusan Bajracharya, other two girls would be selected after the completion of selection tournament on Friday.



Host TIA reaches QF



KATHMANDU
: Host Trungram International Academy (TIA), HIMS and Kathmandu Valley School entered into the quarterfinals of the boys´ section of the 10th TIA Cup Inter School Basketball Tournament on Thursday. TIA pulled off a thrilling 76-75 victory over Bhadrakali as Kesang Thakuri scored 32 points. TIA defeated Baba 37-31 in its next match. Likewise, HIMS outclassed KISC 34-30 and Kathmandu Valley beat Valley Public 28-26.
