We’ve put together a list for you to follow and to make sure that your hair is taken care of this winter and that you don’t have white flakes on your head or on your shoulders. Read on.
Hat like hair
It’s not surprising that winters are cold, that’s why it’s called the ‘winter season’. And it’s normal for men to just wear beanies and not take it off, because then, they’ll not have to take care of their hair. However, it should be considered that the different kinds of materials create friction static on the hair, which can be tough to get rid of. It also makes the scalp hot and sweaty, the perfect breeding ground for the fungus Malassezia, which causes dandruff. It’s best that you leave your hair to breathe but if you must wear a cap, make sure its woolen and nothing else.
Dry scalp?
We tend to wear moisturizers and a lot of cold creams to make sure that our skin doesn’t dry out. Very few of us realize that our scalp and hair need that kind of care too. Avoid a dry flaky scalp by going in for a scalp massage and opt for a gentle formula made for dry hair, and don´t be shampooing every day. Frequent washing and hot water can dry out your hair and your scalp.
Wet hair? Bad idea!
Our parents were right when they said one should not leave home with wet hair. Well, it’s true, especially during the winter months. Keeping aside the fact that it helps you not catch cold or flu, blow dry your hair thoroughly before leaving because that ensures your style stays put for a longer time. What more do you want?
Using products
If you use hair products, especially gel, to set your hair every day, no matter how cold it is, you have to take a quick shower before you hit the sack. Instead of using gel, which harms your hair, opt for hair waxes or hair creams. But it would be best if you don’t use any kind of product for your hair, at all!
