Nepali Embassy in UAE urges citizens not to spread rumors on social media

In an advisory issued recently, the embassy requested the Nepali community to refrain from posting, sharing or broadcasting sensitive information, videos or images related to the current situation in the UAE through social media or other digital platforms.

KATHMANDU, March 15: The Embassy of Nepal in the United Arab Emirates has urged Nepali nationals living in the United Arab Emirates not to spread rumors or post security-related content on social media amid the evolving security situation in the country.



In an advisory issued recently, the embassy requested the Nepali community to refrain from posting, sharing or broadcasting sensitive information, videos or images related to the current situation in the UAE through social media or other digital platforms.


The embassy warned that such activities could create confusion regarding the security situation and called on the community to act responsibly.

It also reminded Nepali residents in the UAE to strictly follow local laws and avoid engaging in illegal or unauthorized activities.


According to the advisory, individuals found involved in such activities could face penalties under UAE law, including imprisonment ranging from one to three years and fines between 100,000 and 200,000 dirhams.


The embassy further advised people not to approach, photograph or share images of debris that may fall to the ground after missile or drone interceptions.


It also urged Nepalis to fully comply with security guidelines issued by the UAE government and rely only on official sources for accurate information.


For updates, the embassy encouraged the community to regularly follow its official Facebook page and obtain verified information from relevant authorities, including the UAE’s foreign, defense and interior ministries, as well as official media offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and the Emirates News Agency.


The embassy appealed to all Nepalis in the UAE to remain alert, safe and responsible.
