KATHMANDU, Dec. 27: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has decided to form a committee to probe into the alleged efforts made to bribe officials concerned to increase the NOC dealers´ commission.

The three-member committee formed under the convenorship of the Joint-secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies comprises one representative each from the Finance Ministry and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

The decision to form the committee was taken by a meeting on Thursday evening of the NOC Board of Directors and it will be given 15 days to present its report, said NOC spokesperson Shiva Prasad Pudasaini.

The probe committee has been formed in wake of recent media reports stating that petroleum dealers were collecting large sum of money to allegedly bribe NOC and government officials to increase their commission on the sale of petroleum products.
