Buildings of one lower secondary school based in Kholagaun VDC-6, Rapti Gyanodaya Higher Secondary School at Simli-1 and one secondary school at Jogineta collapsed in the earthquake.
Besides a dozen houses including of one Rudra Bahadur BC, Lal Bahadur BC, Maniram Bohara, Kharka Bahadur BC, Motiram BC, Lal Bahadur BC, Bhim Bahadur Khatri, Surbindra BK of Kholagaun VDC-6, and that of Surendra Bikram Shah and Bhakta Bahadur Shah have been damaged by the earthquake. The District Police Office Rukum said lack of communications service has hampered the collection of details of damages. Around five dozen houses have developed cracks at Arma, Nuwakot, Peugha, Mur, Khara and Pipal.
An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted Rukum at 5:25 pm Friday.
