SPORTS BRIEFS: APF maintains lead

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Armed Police Force (APF) Club and defending champion Nepal Police Club (NPC) won their respective matches on Friday in the Eighth Dhorpatan Blue Sky Cup TVS Women´s Double League Volleyball Tournament. APF defeated Fishtail Academy, Pokhara 25-18, 25-14, 25-22 to remain on the top of the points table with 26 points.



However, Fishtail edged past Kavre District Volleyball Association 25-19, 25-12, 25-11 in their second match of the day. [break]Fishtail has the third position with 21 points. Defending champion NPC beat Angels´ Heart 25-15, 25-9, 25-14 to remain on the second position with 24 points. Meanwhile, New Diamond pulled a 25-18, 25-17, 25-20 victory over Chandeshwari Youth Club, Ramechhap on Friday.



Xavier Int´l sets final with Trinity



KATHMANDU
: Xavier International pulled a 72-66 thrilling victory over defending champion National Campus in the semifinal on Friday to set a final clash with Trinity in the boys´ section of the 10th Prime Cup Inter College Basketball Tournament. Niraj Khadka contributed 25 points for Xavier.



Meanwhile, Trinity humbled host Prime 47-19 in the semifinal as Krishna Maharjan scored 10 points for the winning side. Host Prime and NASA will lock horns in the final of girls´ section. Both the final matches will be played on Saturday.
