KATHMANDU, Feb 13: The U-5 boys´ team of Neric Academy defeated Babylon 28-23 in the 9th Gyan Niketan Inter-School Basketball Tournament on Saturday to secure the third position.
Likewise, the girls´ team of Daffodil thrashed Mahendra Bhawan 20-9 in the third place playoff while the senior boys´ team of Gyan Niketan edged out Nalandu 61-47 riding on Lal Bahadur Limbu´s 15 points.
The final matches will be held between New Shrine and Daffodil (U-5 boys), Valley Public and TIA (girls) and between TIA and Wilson Academy (boys) on Sunday.
Nagarik T-20 Cricket
NEPALGUNJ, Feb 13: Mongolian Sports Club defeated Siddheshwar Club by five wickets during the Nagarik T-20 Cricket Tournament being held in Nepalgunj on Saturday.
Siddheshwar opted to bat first and scored 69 runs in 11.4 overs losing all wickets. Mongolian Club´s Hari Pandey claimed seven wickets including a hat-trick. Mongolian Club met the target in 10.5 overs at the loss of five wickets.
In another match of the day, Valley Junior Cricket Club of Dang ousted ACC Club of Nepalgunj. Valley Club scored 167 runs in 20 overs. ACC lost all wickets in 14.4 overs and were limited to 66 runs.
