The human rights watchdog team led by its chairman Anup Raj Sharma drew the PM's attention during a meeting at the latter's residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday and urged him to address the demands of the agitating Madhesi Front through dialogues and negotiations.
During the meeting, Chairman Sharma said that the ongoing protests in the Terai should not be further prolonged at any cost as it may further worsen human rights situation in the country. He said that the NHRC has been holding separate talks both with the government and the agitating Madhesi Morcha to upkeep the human rights situation in the crisis.
He even informed the prime minister about worsening conditions of the earthquake victims due to the prolonged political crisis along with drawing the PM's attention for endorsing amendments on the NHRC bill.
