A meeting of the special committee for supervision, rehabilitation and integration of Maoist ex-combatants held at its secretariat on Saturday decided to provide this opportunity to those interested to leave the training due to physical and mental health problems. [break]
However, the meeting did not take any decision whether the ex-combatants would be entitled to get any package while abandoning the training midway.
A decision was made to give chance to those ex-combatants filing application for quitting the training, said special committee member Bhim Rawal.
"The meeting decided to give consent to the Nepal Army to liberate those incapable to continue the training," he added.
It is learnt that the Maoist side has put forth a proposal to provide at least 50 per cent of the amount to the combatants eager to exit from the training.
Another member Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said the decision was made to free the ex-combatants wishing to leave the training due to physical and mental problems.
The meeting dwelt on a report presented by Secretariat Coordinator Balananda Sharma, Dr Mahat said.
Coordinator Sharma had apprised the committee about various difficulties currently emerged in course of army integration.
As many as 40 out of 1,442 ex-combatants taking part in the training for integration into the army have expressed interest to quit the training.
