BUSINESS BRIEFS: Shrestha new CEO of BoK

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: The Board of Directors of Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has appointed Ajay Shrestha as its new Chief Executive Officer.



Bank officials informed myrepublica.com that the newly appointed CEO will be taking charge of his official duty from February 25. [break]



He is currently working in Nepal Merchant Bank (NMB) as the general manager and he has been looking after general management and credit risk management.



According to NMB bank management, Shrestha has resigned from his post and will not be coming to office after 18 February.



Before joining NMB Bank, he used to work for BoK as a senior member of its management team.





Virgin Mobile announces lucky winners



KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Virgin Mobile has announced the winners of its Valentine´s Day offer for February 10, 11and 12.

G´Five phones with dual batteries



KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Call Mobility Pvt Ltd - the sole authorized distributor of G´Five mobile phones in Nepal -- has launched new G´Five phones with dual batteries keeping in view the long power cuts.



“As the power is in short supply and load shedding is very common, the new phones from G´Five can field two batteries at a time,” a press statement by Call Mobility stated.



G´Five´s D11, D22, D99, D90 and D18 models have slots for two batteries. These phones also come with HD camera, Bluetooth, MP3/MP4 and FM player. The phone has become more compatible with dual GSM SIM card support facility. These phones also have the stylish metallic finish.



G´Five phones come with one year warranty on software and hardware and 6 months warranty on battery. The company has also announced free external speakers with its D99, D22 and D11 and D18 models.





LG Cookie Plus launched



KATHMANDU, Feb 14: LG has brought back its popular handset Cookie with new features and applications as Cookie Plus (LG GS500).



The sleek new phone is brought with facilities like 3G Technology, touchscreen, editable screenshot MMS and SNS (Social Networking Sites) features in affordable price.



It also has 3 Megapixel camera with digital zoom, MPG 4 video, MP3 audio playback support and FM tuner. Its predecessor Cookie was the phone that made Touchscreen available to all.
