BUSINESS BRIEFS: NBL's extension counter, ATM at RR Campus

KATHMANDU, Dec 5: Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) has established its extension counter and ATM services at RR Campus at Bhrikutimandap in the capital, a press statement of the bank said. Coordinator of the bank´s board of directors Maheshwar Lal Shrestha and RR Campus Chief Rudra Prasad Paudel jointly inaugurated the extension counter.



Speaking at the inaugural function, Shrestha said the bank was offering its services through its 166 branches across the country. [berak]He said the bank was offering auto loan and home loan at the interest rate of 10 percent on the occasion of its 76th anniversary.



Jyoti Group employees donate blood



KATHMANDU
: Employees of the Jyoti Group on Wednesday organized a blood donation program to mark the 95th birth anniversary of Late Maniharsha Jyoti, a renowned industrialist, social worker and the Founder Chairman of the group. According to a press release, 125 employees of the group donated blood at a function at Jyoti Bhawan. The employees of Jyoti Group of Companies have been celebrating the anniversary of their Founder Chairman by organizing various programs every year.



JCB holds operators meet in Janakpur



KATHMANDU
: JCB Division of MAW Enterprises, sole distributor of JCB construction and heavy equipment, organized an operator meet in Janakpur on Monday to educate and update equipment operators about proactive maintenance. The meeting was held as a part of the series of awareness campaigns that JCB has been organizing on a monthly basis.



Issuing a press release, the company said operators were educated and made aware on ways of operating the machines in a way that increases their life. “They were also educated on how to take care of the machines in order to minimize unforeseen breakdowns apart from highlighting benefits of using the genuine parts,” reads the release. The company also provided free health checkup to the participants during the program.



Him launches new range of gas heaters



KATHMANDU
: Him Electronics has introduced new models of Himstar gas room heaters for winter. According to a press statement issued by the company, the gas heaters are designed incorporating adequate safety measures, besides the basic feature of keeping rooms warm. Its body is made up of powder coated heavy metal where safety sensor has been installed to enable the heater to automatically switch off if it falls. In order to ensure that the good and safe pipes are used to connect the gas cylinder, Himstar gas room heater comes with high quality pipes, said the statement. The earlier models of Himstar electric gas room heaters are already available in the Nepali market.



Sanima offers scholarships to 28 students



KATHMANDU
: Sanima Bank has offered scholarships to 28 poor and underprivileged students. Each student selected for the scholarship will receive a grant wroth Rs 40,078 for a period of two years, which covers tuition fees, allowances and expenses to purchase educational material, according to a bank statement. The scholarships winners were selected upon the recommendation of a committee comprising of distinguished individuals from the local communities, as per the statement. The scholarship fund was collected from 14 branches of the bank located outside the Kathmandu Valley. Meanwhile, Sanima has also started providing self-employment training to underprivileged youths.



NMB, Sahayogi banks join hand



KATHMANDU
: NMB Bank and Sahayogi Bikas Bank have joined hands to provide NMB Bank´s ´Local Cash Management Service´ and NMB Bank Sulav Remit Service. “These services will allow customers of both the banks to avail banking services from each other´s branches,” according to a bank statement. The agreement also allows customers to avail NMB Bank Sulav Remit Service from any branch of Sahayogi Bikas Bank. NMB Bank Sulav Remit allows customers to send and receive money in the country and remit money from abroad. The bank is currently operating 20 branches, 1 extension counter and 23 ATM outlets.
