NOC dispute to be resolved

KATHMANDU, Aug. 7: Member-secretary of National Sports Council Yubaraj Lama has said that the dispute over the Nepal Olympic Committee would be resolved in recognition of the Supreme Court´s verdict to that end.



Speaking at a press conference held at the Council on Tuesday, member-secretary Lama said the dispute over the internationally recognized NOC and NOC recognized by the Supreme Court would be resolved soon.[break]



Election of all the sports associations registered at the Council would be held and the new NOC elected from them, he said.



Dhurva Bahadur Pradhan and Rukma Shumsher Rana are presently leading two NOCs in the country.



The time has come to resolve the dispute over the NOC even for the dignity of the country, Lama added.
