Maintaining secrecy

I’ve come across thousands of faces in my life. Out of that, I could clearly trace some ‘peculiar extroverts’ who preferred some space and chose to keep certain chapters of their life covertly. It’s not that they don’t believe in the saying “sharing is caring” but they share and care about things differently, unlike the introverts do. As a matter of fact, I have been thinking of trying to keep interesting affairs to myself from now on.

My words might seem a little absurd and contradicting. What I mean here is that it’s only the twin within us who can understand us to the fullest extent. It’s a matter of ineffable joy that we have some tender hearted pals with whom we feel like sharing every single moment of our life. But sadly, we then won’t have anything to keep to ourselves. Sometimes, we even tend to share secrets like relationship issues with our friends.

Unfortunately, some of the muppets might make a comment out of it and someday, someone may say it out loud during an argument. It’s then that we’ll need to reassemble the courage and determination to erase those indelible memories.

Thereby, I wonder why we open up to someone to such an extent that we leave room for ourselves to get embarrassed in the future. I’m confounded at the moment because in one school of thought, if you share everything with someone, your life will be an open book for someone besides you.

However, in the other school of thought, they say that sharing painful moments of your life with someone lessens the pain. I have no idea how I sound right now, may be imbecile to some and extremely sensible to the other mass, but it’s all just an opinion.

“Let there be some spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of heaven dance between your souls.” Gibran’s words ring with truth. I am, definitely, going to keep some space for myself in the days to come.

That way, I’d be saving time and doing something creative rather than being reminded of the embarrassing moments of the past and getting down in the dumps. Try implementing it in your life if you like experimenting with your inner-self. If not, remember not to linger in the past but instead, be optimistic.

As the saying goes, “count your blessings, not your troubles”. Learn from your past mistakes, live the present and try to visualize the panorama of the bright future in store for you.
