BIZ BRIEFS: NT announces 5% bonus in pinless top-up

KATHMANDU: With the objective to encourage customers to use MPoS (Pinless Top-Up) recharge service for GSM pre-paid subscribers, Nepal Telecom (NT) has announced 5 percent bonus in every transaction. Gunakeshari Pradhan, spokesperson for NT, said customers recharging any amount from Rs 10 can get 5 percent bonus in each transfer.“The service is more convenient and cost-effective," Pradhan said in a statement issued on Tuesday. NT has more than 5,000 retailers offering the service. The operator charges applicable taxes and provides validity date in each transfer.



Explore Digital announces lucky winners

KATHMANDU: Explore Digital -- a multi-brand ICT retail chain -- has announced the winner of its ´Celebrate Dashain Tihar´ campaign. According to a press statement issued on Tuesday, Sagar Adhikari has won a Dell laptop, while Rejina Khadka and Abinash Kumar Karn won Explore tablet and Jetway tablet, respectively. Explore Digital has showrooms at major cities of the country. "The shoppers at Explore Digital can avail uniform prices across all our showrooms with warranty issued from one showroom valid across all the showrooms," said the statement.



Nokia Lumia 510 unveiled

KATHMANDU: Neoteric Nepal -- the authorized distributor of Nokia phones in Nepal -- has introduced Nokia Lumia 510 in the domestic market. According to a press statement issued by the company, the Windows Phone 7.8 set uses single-core 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1processor with 3D Graphics HW accelerator and 256MB RAM. "Lumia 510 is an entry-level smartphone with features like 4-inch display, 5 mega pixels auto focus camera, GPS, accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensors, among others. The Windows phone allows the users to enjoy exclusive digital lens functionality to go with the five mega pixels camera by downloading the camera applications," the statement said. According to the statement, apps like Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Transport offer the most comprehensive smartphone location and navigation experience in the phone. The phone provides 7GB Sky Drive cloud storage and access to Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer 9. The phone is available in five attractive colors: red, yellow, cyan, white and black and will cost below Rs 20,000, according to the statement.
