Truck carrying bricks cashes in Lalitpur: Four dead, three identified

Preliminary investigations suggest that the truck may have rolled backward due to the steep slope and the heavy brick load. Police have said that a thorough investigation is underway.

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: A mini truck carrying bricks crashed in Konjyosom Rural Municipality-1, Lalitpur, leaving four people dead.



According to the District Police Office (DPO), Lalitpur, the truck, bearing registration number Ba Pra-01-004 Ka 6228, overturned at Bahun Danda around 9:30 PM on Friday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra said the driver, 52-year-old Ganesh Khadka, and a passenger, 42-year-old Ganesh Thapa, died on the spot.


Two others died en route to Patan Hospital, including 55-year-old Gopi Karki, who passed away around midnight. The identity of the fourth victim, an estimated 40-year-old male, is still unknown.
