The deceased have been identified as Sabitri Rai, 45, and Janak Kumari Rai, 60, both from Gupteshwar-6, and Rajan Karki, 60, of Jarayotar village in Bhojpur.[break]
Suman Adhikari and Samjhana Rai from Annapurna village, and Bhojkumari Pradhan, 60, Renuka Rai, 10, Ganesh Khatri, Goma Basnet, Dawa Kiranti, Tejen Rai and Nagi Rai from Gupteshwar, were injured in the accident. They are receiving treatment at Bhojpur district hospital.
The truck was overloaded with villagers returning from the three-day Tyamke festival. The truck driver has been absconding after the accident.
