UDMF leader Ram Naresh Raya said they haven’t received any information about the meet till this afternoon.
“Today’s meeting was planned on Friday. But, so far nobody has contacted us,” he said, adding that an accord before PM’s visit was unlikely “as the government has not taken the talks seriously.”
The major three parties and UDMF on Friday had agreed to hold a meeting of the political body to forge agreement on the demarcation of provinces before the commencement of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s India visit.
PM Oli will leave for New Delhi on Friday.
Press Advisor to PM Oli, Pramod Dahal, however, told Republica that the taskforce meeting has not started due to the busy schedule of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Dahal too was unsure if the meeting will take place today. He, however, claimed that a deal will be reached with the agitating parties before the PM leaves for India.
The UDMF, on the other hand, has accused the major parties of keeping them in the dark.
“This is not the first time. They have done so in the past as well, many times,” Raya said, “We were cheated in similar ways in the past.”
