Tamsaling strike affects life; lawmakers arrested

CHITWAN, July 22: Transport in Chitwan district has been completely disrupted on Wednesday due to strike called by Tamsaling Joint Struggle Committee (TJSC).



Police arrested 26 including central leader Dawa Tamang, vice-chairman of Tamang Rastriya Mukti Morcha Singh Bahadur Gole and singer Hari Yonjan and kept them in detention at District Police Office and Ward Police Office.



After the arrests, TJSC warned of indefinite closure.



Police have also arrested parliamentarians Bir Bahadur Tamang and Santa Bahadur Tamang in Dhading.



Due to the strike, transportation to various part of the country has been affected. Many buses have been stranded in various parts of the district.



TJSC activists have created obstacles at main points of the highway and city routes. They also vandalized a motorbike (Na 8 Ba 3420) early morning in Bharatpur.



The strike has also affected Makawanpur and Dhading districts. In both districts, transportation has been disrupted.
