KATHMANDU, July 17: The monsoon wind is active nationwide at present, and most parts of the country are likely to receive rainfall today. The low-pressure belt of the monsoon is located at a slightly higher level than its average position in the west and near its average position in the eastern part of the country, the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology stated.

Now, moderate rain is happening in some areas of the hilly parts in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and in one or two places of the hilly parts in Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Likewise, the weather is likely to remain generally cloudy this afternoon, and most of the parts of the country are expected to receive moderate rain.
According to the Division, one or two parts of the country's hilly region in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Lumbini provinces and some parts of the Tarai belt are likely to get heavy rain today.
The weather will be generally cloudy tonight, the weather service stated.
