SPORTS BRIEFS: Maharjan clinches title

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Narayan Gopal Maharjan clinched the title of Second Mountain Bike Championship on Saturday. Maharjan finished the 19.5 km distance in 1 hour 1 minute 15 second. Raj Kumar Shrestha and Rajan Bhandari finished second and third respectively. Shrestha completed the distance in 1 hour 5 minute and Bhandari clocked 1 hour 16 minute.



The top three finishers bagged a purse of Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Seventy cyclists participated in the event organized by Black Hawk Event Management was competed by 70 cyclists.[break]



Japanese national donates TT kits



KATHMANDU
: Former Table Tennis player of Japan Miyake Suzuo and Ito Masanobo gave table tennis kits and dress worth Rs 250,00 to Lalitpur District Table Tennis Association on Saturday. Lalitpur Table Tennis President Sudil Shahi said. According to Shahi the kits will be distributed to Lalitpur players to compete in the 35th National Table Tennis Tournament to he held in Dhangadhi, Kailali later. Meanwhile, Suzuo and Masanobo were felicitated by the association on the occasion.
