Departmental teams continue domination
KATHMANDU: Departmental teams -- Armed Police Force (APF) and Nepal Police Club -- continued with their dominance in the 8th Dhorpatan Cup Women Volleyball Tournament on Monday winning their respective matches. Leader APF edged past New Diamond Sports Club 25-21, 25-21, 25-12 to maintain its unbeaten run to 12th match.
APF has 35 points. Second placed Police thumped Chandeshwari Youth Club of Ramechhap 25-10, 25-6, 25-3. Playing equal matches as that of leader APF, Police lies on second position with 33 points. In another match, Angel´s Heart edged past Kavre District Volleyball Association 25-20, 25-11, 25-11.
Football coaching courses begins
KATHMANDU: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) started two separate coaching courses on Monday. ANFA started the AFC B License Coaching Course at its headquarters in Satdobato, Kathmandu and Coaching Course for Women and Girls Festival of Football 2012 at Kanchanpur, Mahendranagar. The 21-day long B coaching course will see participation of 21 coaches, including Aruna Gurung, a women coach.
AFC instructor Lim Lee Huat of Singapore will conduct the course. Meanwhile, 37 women coaches from 37 districts across the country will participate in the course for women and girls. Bal Gopal Maharjan, the chief coach of the course and grass root manager of ANFA, will train the participants on theoretical and practical aspects of football during the five-day long training organized by Kanchanpur District Football Association as per the schedule of ANFA
