Defending champions Reliance International Academy advanced into the quarterfinals of the Second BST Inter-college Basketball Tournament on Thursday defeating the hosts BST College 44-29 at their home court at Gongabu.
Likewise, Whitehouse, Golden Gate, Morgan, Bagmati, National Campus and Xavier International also qualified for the quarterfinals winning their respective matches.
Three players on lead
Former Nepal champion Nabin Tandukar, Madan Krishna Kayastha and Shyam Sunder Shreshta jointly took the lead in the Man Bahadur Magar Rating Chess Tournament after the completion of third round on Thursday.The three players have scored three points each. FIDE Master Manish Hamal and veteran Lab Kumar Shrestha are jointly in second position with 2.5 points each. Unrated players Purna Raj Khadka, Krishna Shah, Success Shrestha, Suraj Pandit, Lekh Bahadur Thapa have two points each in the tournament organized by The Himalayan Chess Club.
Whitehouse thrash GAA
Whitehouse thrashed Godavari Alumni Association 47-12 in the women´s category of the Second South Siders Open Basketball Tournament held at the covered hall of the Dasharath Stadium on Thursday.
In the men´s category, Snow Leopard defeated Xavier International 52-37 and Asian College of Medical Science saw off Bhanimandal Club 35-26.
