Scrap appointments of previous govt: Singh

KATHMANDU, May 18: Nepali Congress General Secretary Prakash Man Singh has said that crucial decisions of erstwhile Baburam-led government should be scrapped to ensure the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections in a free and fair manner.



Speaking at a cadres´ meet in Kathmandu Constituency No. 1 today, Singh said an environment for elections would not be created until political appointments of the Baburam-led government were scrapped.[break]



He also said that NC would not turn back from its earlier stance on threshold of ballot imposed on political parties for their representation in the CA under the proportional electoral system, as it was needed strengthen nationality and democracy as well as make politics accountable to the people.
