KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Nepali currency strengthened against major convertible currencies, including US dollar this week. This brought cheers to the importers and general consumers, but shrank income for exporters and remittances receivers.

Currency gain and improved supplies, on the other hand, dragged down the prices of gold in the domestic market, much to the relief of general consumers but worries for investors. [break]
