The name and address of the robber is however not ascertained. The robber was killed after the locals retaliated against a group of some 15 armed people wearing masks that carried out looting at the house of Bhumi Rajbanshi at Pathariya-4 at midnight on Tuesday.
Locals chased the robbers and one of them was killed in retaliatory action of the locals about one kilometer west of the village.
Police said the robbers looted cash and gold worth Rs. 650,000 from Rajbanshi’s house. Locals and police had tried to arrest the robbers surrounding the village since midnight after learning that a band of robbers has entered the village.
But the rest of the robbers except one escaped after attacking the locals and the police, according to the District Police Office.
