President Bhandari to participate in Bagmati clean-up campaign

KATHMANDU, March 24: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari will be participating in the 150th Bagmati clean-up campaign on Saturday.

The weekly campaign initiated in 2013 has improved the condition of the river to a great extent. Saturday marks the 150th week of the campaign.

According to the High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization Committee, which has been continuing the campaign for the last two years, two days' fair will be organized on the occasion.

Documentaries will be shown, children's park will be opened on the bank of the Bagmati River and photo and painting exhibitions will be held on the occasion.

The Bagmati River, which has 57 rivers and rivulets as its tributaries, is the largest river in the capital city of the Kathmandu Valley.
