Nepalese Society for Critical Care Medicine registered

KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Specialist doctors working in the intensive care units (ICUs) on Tuesday registered the Nepalese Society of Critical Care Medicine (NSCCM) with an aim of uplifting the critical care services in the country.



The society also aims to develop protocols and guidelines for management of various aspects of ICUs including the care of critically ill patients and will also supervise medical professionals working in ICUs.[break]



NSCCM is headed by Dr Modanath Marhatta, the head of the Department of Anaesthesiology at the TU Teaching Hospital.



“The society will also provide trainings and conduct courses for development of critical care services in Nepal,” Dr Subhash Prasad Acharya, joint-secretary, informed.



Other executive committee members of the society are Vice-president Dr Rajesh Dhoj Joshi, general secretary Dr Lava Narsingh Joshi, treasurer Dr Ravi Rauniyar, joint treasurer Dr Ajay Pradhan, members Dr Babu Raja Shrestha, Dr. Sanjay Lakhe, Dr. Ravi Ram Shrestha, Dr Bhuwan Kunwar and Dr Roshan Piya.
