The agitating NC cadres have demanded that the government guarantee compensation for the family of the deceased, besides assuring employment and education for his children.
Addressing the protest program, Khagendra Prasad Yadav, president of Nepali Congress Saptari Region No. 6, warned of more intense protests if the government fails to meet their demand. He further said they would gradually increase the duration of the transport strikes along the highway.
He threatened to launch a fast-unto-death sit-in from Saturday.
