NBA vote count: Democratic panel maintains lead

KATHMANDU, April 6: The Sher Bahadur KC-led democratic panel has maintained lead in vote counting for the new leadership of Nepal Bar Association (NBA), an umbrella organization of lawyers across the country, on Wednesday.

With 1,812 votes counted till 2:30 pm, KC is leading in the race to become NBA chairman by 141 votes. He has received 931 votes, while his closest contender of progressive panel, Bijaya Kanta Mainali has garnered 790 votes.

According to Senior Advocate Hari Shankar Niraula, the chief of the election committee, the KC panel is leading in the posts of all six vice-chairman. Moreover, candidates of progressive panel are also ahead in the race for general secretary and treasurer.
