Maoist General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa and standing committee member Top Bahadur Rayamajhi declared the Magrat state in Tansen of Palpa whereas member Dev Gurung declared the Tamuwan state at the Amar Singh Ground of Pokhara.[brea]
The declarations were parts of their protest program. The Maoists have already declared 12 other autonomous states since starting the declaration on December 11.
Thapa and Rayamajhi removed a red covering of the big sign-board reading ‘Magrat Autonomous State’ at Sitalpati.

According to Maoists, the Magrat state consists of nine districts – Palpa, Gulmi, Arghakhachi, Baglung, Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan, Pyuthan and Myagdi.
During the declaration, the organizers cracked nine crackers putting them on empty beer bottles – a move that drew criticism from the locals as the crackers produced smoke and one of the crackers entered a nearby building.

The Maoists have launched a protest against the government demanding ‘civilian supremacy’, which they said was breached by the President’s move to reinstate the then Chief of Army Staff.
The Tamuwan state include eight districts including Parbat and Mustang of Dhaulagiri, Syanja, Kaski, Tanahun, Lamjung, Manang and Gorkha of Gandaki.
The Maoists have named Amar Tamu as the co-ordinator of the Tamuwan state.
