Earlier, the party had decided to hold a plenum to identify the party´s main enemy, but the last Standing Committee meeting decided to train its cadres instead, postponing the plenum indefinitely.
“The objective of the training is to disseminate the decisions of the last standing committee,” said Maoist politburo member Devendra Paudel.
The last standing committee had decided not to change the current main enemy -- domestic feudal elements. Party hardliners had demanded that India be declared as the party´s new enemy.
The central committee meeting to be held on Wednesday morning will also take a decision to induct more members in the central, politburo and standing committees. The party currently has 16 members in the standing, 45 in the politburo and 138 in the central committee.
