The deceased has been identified as Anij Gauchan (24) of Naurikot of Kobang-1.
According to the police, Gauchan had gone missing along with his 40 yaks since Tuesday. Gauchan´s body was recovered from under up to 4-feet of snow deposited in the site on Thursday morning, said Police Inspector at the District Police Office Sundar Tiwari.
The avalanche occurred after the 4 to 6 feet of snow deposited following regular snowfall since Monday started melting down on Wednesday.
It is said there is a possibility of avalanches in other places of the district, too, as this is the heaviest snowfall in a decade in the district.
