"Everyone must follow party´s decision," said Nepal, "The decision to give the home ministry [to the Maoists] was wrong." [break]
Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal gave home ministry portfolio to Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Wednesday ignoring CPN-UML´s decision.
Speaking to journalists at an interaction at Reporter´s Club, Nepal said Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal did not even consult him before giving the home ministry to the Maoists.
"We had met [recently] but he did not tell me that he was going to give the ministry to the Maoists. He told me that the Maoists are changing," Nepal said when asked whether the prime minister had consulted him before breaching the party decision.
When asked whether the party will take a disciplinary action against the prime minister for breaching the party´s decision, he said, "The party will take an appropriate decision."
Nepal said the Maoists were desperate for the home ministry in order to protect "criminals" in the Maoist party and give them clean chits.
In another context, the former prime minister said the term of the Constituent Assembly could be extended for three to four months.
