KATHMANDU, July 18: The price of gold in the domestic market decreased by Rs 5,300 per tola (11.6638 grams) amid escalated US-Iran conflict following the collapse of a brief ceasefire.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the market price of gold fell to Rs 282,100 from Rs 287,400 per tola when the market closed the previous week. The gold price increased Rs 600 on Sunday, while it gained Rs 800 and Rs 400 on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. For the remaining three days of trading, the prices declined.

The price of silver also slid by Rs 310 last week, declining from Rs 4,510 to Rs 4,200 per tola.
