KATHMANDU, March 21: The 61st International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is being observed across the country today with a variety of programs. The theme for this year in Nepal is “Unified Dalit Movement for Equal Rights, Constitution Amendment for Building the Basis of Socialism.”



A rally was organized this morning. The National Dalit Commission and Dalit rights organizations have also organized a discussion program today under the title “Effective Identification of State Structure for Access to Justice for Dalit Community.”

An illumination program is scheduled this evening at Maitighar Mandala in the federal capital.


Meanwhile, Ganesh BK, elected member of the House of Representatives, has called on all concerned to continue the struggle to ensure that incidents of racial discrimination do not occur. He also referred to the recent case of the rape and murder of Inisha BK.
