India 'surprised' at minister's statement

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Indian embassy has expressed concern over the statement by Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel that “Jamim Shah was killed due to tension between India and Pakistan”.



“No information to substantiate the reported statement by the Hon´ble Minister has been provided by the Government of Nepal to this Embassy,” read a statement issued by the Indian embassy Tuesday.



The statement also said the Indian embassy is “surprised” at reports attributing the statement made by the information minister in this regard.
