I am ready to take responsibility of wartime incidents: Deuba

SALYAN, Jan 22: Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he was ready to take moral responsibility of the incidents carried out in insurgency period during his stay in the office.



Speaking at a news conference organized by the Nepal Press Union Salyan Chapter on Tuesday, leader Deuba said, "I am ready to take moral responsibility of the wartime incidents happened during my premiership. Prachanda also should dare take moral responsibility of the incidents carried out from the Maoists side."[break]



Leader Deuba accused the Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai of making a national shame by trying to give an excuse to the criminals though the Prime Minister was a follower of the constitution.



The NC leader also said that the proposed Truth and Reconciliation Commission was not acceptable adding that the commission should be formed through consensus.



He also claimed that the opposition parties´ anti-government protest was not only for government change but to give an outlet to the country also."Cause of all problems is the present government.



Talks, dialogue and consensus will not be held until this government topples," he added.
