PUNE, Feb 20: Gokul Nepali´s body that had been lying at the Sassoon General Hospital´s morgue for six days was released late on Friday night after his cousin Basant Nepali and friends from German Bakery got the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the police.

Nepali´s wife and mother are in Nepal and could not travel to India, said Raj Thakur, president of the Nepali Shramik Mazdoor Union which has been trying to contact the Nepal embassy since Sunday. “We did not get an official reply,” he said and alleged that there was no help from the embassy either.

Nepali, who had married just three months ago, hailed from a poor family that lived in the Bagmati district. He worked in Goa earlier and came to Pune a couple of months ago, Thakur said.

Basant who also works at German Bakery was still in a state of shock and said he yet had to come to terms with the deaths due to blast.
