FinMin Mahat's vehicle attacked in Pokhara

POKHARA, March 25: The UCPN-Maoist affiliated students attacked the vehicle with stone in which Minister for Finance Dr Ram Sharan Mahat was travelling here in Simpani area of the Kaski district at around 11 on Wednesday morning.

Police have arrested ANNSU-R Central Committee Member Kiran Sapkota aka Kshitiz, and Laxmi Prasad Subedi, Netra Chapagain, Dinesh Poudel and Bishal Gurung, student leaders at the Pokhara-based Prithvi Naryan Campus  in connection with the attack.


According to SP Hari Bahadur Pal, Minister Mahat, however, escaped unhurt in the incident. He has been shifted to another vehicle to make sure safety of him.

The incident occured as per the predetermined protest programs of 30-party alliance to greet the ruling parties leaders with black flags. The affiliated to the 30-party alliance attacked minister Mahat after their bid to greet him with balck flags failed.
