Businessman Parashuram Yadav of Rohinihawa, Rupandehi, gave Rs 1 million and Rs 100,000 to Kudarat Musalman and Arman Musalman of Farena and Archawar of Rupandehi, respectively. [break]
Yadav´s son was abducted on June 5 from his school in Bhairahawa. He was second grader in Nepal Nalanda Boarding School.
According to the father, Kudrat came to his house on September 11 to tell him that he met his son and that the boy was fine. The father who was clueless about the son´s whereabouts even after 3 months of abduction could not control himself but withdrew the amount from the bank to give him for safe return of the boy.
“He told me that he would bring back my son safely. I trusted him and the same day I withdrew Rs 1 million from the bank and gave it to him,” Yadav said.
But Kudrat´s assurances went in vain. Another man Arman appeared before Yadav promising to bring back his son safely again. Arman demanded Rs 500,000 to bring back his son.
“I told him that I would give him only Rs 100,000 first and the remaining amount only after I am able to contact my son,” said Yadav. He gave Rs 100000 to Arman on September 21. But Arman never met Yadav again.
However, Arman could not fool the police. He was arrested the same month though Kudrat has been absconding. “We have noticed a strong network of criminals who make money by giving false assurances,” said SP Rabindraraj Regmi. “The Musalman duo is connected to such network,” he added.
Meanwhile, neither the middlemen nor the police could help him, Yadav himself went to several places in search of his son. “I went as far as Mumbai to search for my son but all in vain,” he said.
