BHAKTAPUR, Jan. 8: The three employees unions in the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) have padlocked their office in protest against the alleged haphazard affiliations granted by the Council and the failure of the administration to implement the past agreements.

Nepal National Employees Union, Employees Organization and Employees Association locked on Tuesday the office of the CTEVT Vice-chairman, member-secretary, administration division and Standard Determination Division.

The Employees´ unions have charged the Council administration of granting affiliation to five nursing colleges illegally, during the period when the Council had remained padlocked by various students´ organizations.

A joint press statement signed by Chairpersons of the three Unions have demanding immediate cancellation of the illegal affiliations, and halt of admissions taken by the newly affiliated institutions.

They have also drawn the attention of the Council chairperson and education minister, the council vice-chair and member-secretary towards that end.
