The accident took place when a jeep (Me 1 Ja 429) heading towards Birtamod of Jhapa from Phidim fell some 20 meters off the road at 11:25 am.
Eight people including two women were injured in the accident. Of the injured, condition of a woman and two men is critical, it is learnt.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Jhapa-based Kankai and Manmohan Hospital, said Ujjwal Giri, a local.
Identity of the injured is yet to be ascertained.
