The Prime Minister raised the issue during a meeting with the visiting Bhutanese Minister who reached out to him at his official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday. [break]
The PM was with an opinion of seeking a permanent solution to resolve the issues regarding the Bhutanese refugees residing in different parts of Nepal.
Referring to the increasing cases of the suicide among the refugees rehabilitated in third countries the PM said that the procedure of rehabilitating the Bhutanese refugees to third country would not be able to yield any fruitful results.
The Prime Minister said that they should be allowed to return their home rather than some other countries.
In response the Bhutanese Minister said that he had taken the issue seriously and will talk to his Prime Minister once he returns his home.
Minister Wangchuk also handed an invitation letter forwarded by his Prime Minister to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal requesting the latter to attend the 16th SAARC summit due on April 28-29 in Bhutan’s capital, Thimpu.
