Baitadi, Kanchanpur set final clash

MAHENDRANAGAR, Feb 12: Hosts Baitadi and Kanchanpur set up the title clash on Saturday in the Pepsi Senior Regional T20 Cricket Tournament being held at Ninglasaini cricket ground, Baitadi.



Baitadi registered a narrow three-run win over Dadheldhura while Kanchanpur enjoyed walkover from Kailali.[break]



Baitadi mustered 197/6 in the allotted 20 overs and bundled out Dadheldhura for194 runs.



Saroj Rawal and Nabin Thagunna emerged the hero in Baitadi´s victory as Rawal topscored with 59 runs and Thagunna pocketed four wickets of opponents.



In another semifinal, Kailali team did not enter the ground as two of their players including captain Rajendra Bam and Ganesh Rajak were suspended from Saturday´s match.



On Friday, Kailali players had protested umpire´s decision and obstructed the match for sometime.



The disciplinary committee of the Regional Cricket Development Committee Region No 6 had banned the duos stating that their action was against the spirit of game.



Altogether eight districts teams from the far-western region have competed in the regional event which began on Monday.
