“This is the first time we have been involved directly with party tasks. By forming this small community of students, we want to show that youths have the ability to correct the distorted norms of society and bring about valuable social change,” said Rai. Most of the cadres involved are plus-two students.
According to the secretary of the CPN-Maoist Kochila State Committee, there are 3,000 YCL cadres in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari districts, while the number of youths affiliated to the CPN-Maoist in these districts is about 8,000.
“All these youths spread across the eastern part of the country are involved in voluntary public service,” said in-charge of the Kochila State Committee, Sabitri Kumar Kafle.
