You´ve heard her on the airwaves of Hits FM 91.2, on shows like Axis, Friends and Trends and Free Your Mind in the past. For someone of her age, she´s done a lot. [break]
At the age of just 26, Arpita has done academically fantastic and has completed her Master´s degree in Economics. She is now teaching Macro and Micro Economics at Himalayan White House International College located in Baneshwor.
"I really don´t think and say I´ve achieved anything," says Arpita, who wants to achieve her PhD degree in Economics, in a humble voice.
After a lot of hard work, Arpita and her team have successfully established the budding Samriddhi, the prosperity foundation, a non-profit organization to continue to achieve economic freedom in Nepal.
We should not forget that the potential of Nepal to be a prosperous nation is immense, states the website belonging to Samriddhi. "Samriddhi was a dream for me for the longest of time and when I see it before my eyes right now, I feel good and I would say this is one of my biggest achievements," says Arpita appreciating the team and their efforts. The team comprises of all young people.

Young people have an eminent role to play in a better and prosperous Nepal to which this wing of Samriddhi focuses on. Arthalaya is a special project of Samriddhi which caters to the youth of the country in the learning process.
"The youth of Nepal can be job creators, not only job seekers," says Arpita adding, "we want to change that typical mentality from the young minds and tell them that Nepal has the potential to hold them and at the same time they can create jobs and cater to the economic development of Nepal."

The main purpose of Arthalaya is to help young people explore alternative ideas for Nepal´s existing problems, to help them understand the value of entrepreneurship and assist them to learn to know how to initiate new business and inject new ideas.
Arthalaya, amongst many other programs, has special five day classes for the youth where they are given Rs. 500 to start a business and sustain themselves for five days.
"This program teaches the youth that they can be job creators and not just job seekers," explains Arpita. The classes are introduced by Arthalaya once in a while and one needs to register and apply for the program through the website of Samriddhi. They are then chosen on the basis of their application and group discussion.
At the moment, Arthalaya is taking in application and the deadline strikes on February 13, 2010. The classes start from 22 to 27 February. A minimum fee of Rs. 999 is required to enroll in the class. After the participants are chosen Rs. 500 will be given back to start a small business of their own and sustain themselves.
