Apollo Tyres open outlet in capital

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The Authorized distributor of Apollo Tyres in Nepal, Subhashree, opened its first showroom Apollo Point at Soalteemode on Sunday.



Apollo Point has been designed along Apollo showrooms across India. The showroom was jointly inaugurated by Jaideep Mazumdar, deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian embassy, Satish Sharma, Chief of India Operations of Apollo Tyres, and Janak Bista, Chairman of Subhashree.[break]



The selling point, which displays Apollo´s high-performance and technology-driven tyres, is aimed at capturing a share of customer´s mind and heart, said Sharma.



Sharing the experience in India, such showrooms would provide opportunity to the customers to get quality tyres at reasonable price. Apollo Tyres is the leading brand in India for heavy, light and private car segments.



A press release issued by Subhashree claimed that around 40 to 60 percent of Volkswagen, Toyota, Hyundai and Tata vehicles manufactured in India are fit for Apollo tyres. However, all segments of Mahindra brand vehicles are fit to use Apollo tyres.



In Nepal, such tyres have been widely used in Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs), Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCVs) Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) and tractors.



Apollo Tyre, which has witnessed a rise of 50 percent to 100 percent in sales at Apollo Points across India, is expecting to register satisfactory sales in Nepal too, with the opening of the showroom.



Bista informed the company has appointed retailers in Banepa, Pokhara, Birgunj, Hetauda, Katari and Butwal and will open Apollo Points in Birgunj, Hetauda and Biratnagar within this year. Apollo tyres are available in the range of Rs 3,800 to Rs 35,000 per unit.



Talking to Republica, Sharma said one can be confident of quality and will enjoy five years of warranty. The US$ 2-billion company holds 15th position worldwide in the tyre segment. He said the company needed a footprint in the Nepali market in line with its presence worldwide. Currently, the company has outlets in 70 countries across the world.
