KATHMANDU, April 29: Students affiliated with All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) disrupted the first day of the ongoing +2 exams in one-and-a half-dozen centers on Thursday.

According to Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), examinations being conducted at 18 exams centers across the country, including seven inside the Valley, were disrupted by ANNISU-R cadres.

They stormed various exams centers and torched question papers. They also vandalized the regional office of HSEB in Koteshwar.

While some ANNISU-cadres said they disrupted the exams ´for defying their education strike,´ others said they did so as the question papers had been leaked. In Kathmandu and Jhapa districts, question papers of English were leaked from some exam centers.

However, ANNISU-R President Lekh Nath Neupane said that the disruption had nothing to do with his union. "Students might have disrupted the exams on their own," he said.
