Eight teams from Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan will compete in the event, which is also a part of the First Adventure Sports Festival being held in Pokhara from March 1 to 30.[break]
The golf event will begin with the Friendship match on Saturday in which around 60 amateur golfers will vie for the main three-day event. On the final day, 33 golfers making the cut will vie for the title.
"Nepal is fielding two teams," Tashi Ghale, general secretary of Nepal Golf Association, said during a press conference on Friday. "Team A consists of Bikash Bogati, ranked first, and Tirtha Poudel, ranked sixth, while Dinesh Prajapati, ranked second, and Bishnu Sharma, ranked fourth, are in Team B." Tashi Tshiring, ranked third and Wangchen Dhondup, ranked fifth, pulled out of the event.
